The Formula
Not a shortcut. Every ingredient earns its place.
Lavandula angustifolia — true lavender, not lavandin or a hybrid — steam-distilled from flowers. True lavender carries a more complex, less camphorous aroma than lavandin, which is why it is the species chosen wherever the quality of the scent matters more than the yield. This oil comes from distillers in Tasmania, where the cool climate and mineral-rich soil produce a lavender with a sweetness and depth absent in most commercial varieties.
Lavender is the most studied essential oil in existence, and linalool — its principal constituent — is the compound most of that work concerns. What we will tell you is what is true and what we are permitted to say: it smells extraordinary, it is the scent most people reach for when they want a room to soften, and it has been used that way for centuries. What it may do beyond that is a claim for a different kind of product, sold under a different set of rules. We sell a cosmetic, and we would rather be precise than persuasive.

The Ritual

Diffusion (recommended)
Add 5–7 drops to a cold-mist diffuser with 100mL of water. Run for 30–60 minute sessions. Longer exposure is not more effective.
Bath use
Always dilute first — 5–8 drops into one teaspoon of carrier oil (Macadamia or Jojoba). Add to a drawn bath and swirl to disperse before entering.
Massage blend
Dilute at 2–3% in a carrier oil. For every 5mL of carrier, add 2–3 drops. Apply to the desired area and work in with firm strokes.
Steam inhalation
Add 2–3 drops to a bowl of just-boiled water. Drape a towel over your head, close your eyes, and breathe steadily for 5–10 minutes.
Caution
Never apply undiluted directly to skin. Keep away from eyes. Always perform a patch test before any topical use. Consult a practitioner during pregnancy.

Before You Decide

Never undiluted. Always dilute in a carrier oil at 2–3% before any topical application — that's 2–3 drops per 5mL of carrier oil such as Macadamia or Jojoba. Undiluted essential oils can cause serious skin reactions.
For regular diffusion at 5–7 drops per session, 3–4 times per week, approximately 10–20 weeks. Occasional use will extend it considerably. Each bottle contains approximately 300 drops.
Cats and dogs have a significantly heightened sensitivity to many essential oils. We recommend diffusing only in well-ventilated spaces and always allowing pets to leave the room. Consult your veterinarian if uncertain.
Several essential oils — including eucalyptus, peppermint, and rosemary — should be avoided or used with extreme caution during pregnancy. Always consult your midwife or healthcare provider before use.
