Products & Formulation
Most of our formulas are plant-based and vegan-friendly. We use Emu oil in one product (Renewal Body Scrub — Outback Botanica). All other formulas contain no beeswax, honey, lanolin, or animal-derived ingredients.
Our Nature & Calm collection is formulated specifically for sensitive, reactive, and delicate skin — including during pregnancy. It is entirely essential oil-free and fragrance-free.
Never. All Bush & Salt products are scented exclusively with pure essential oils and whole botanicals. We do not use synthetic fragrance compounds, parfum, or any artificial scent.
Our bath soaks and body scrubs have a 24-month shelf life from the date of manufacture, stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Our essential oils have a 12-month shelf life once opened.
No — and we would rather say so plainly. Dermatological testing is a specific clinical process, and we have not put our formulas through it. What we can tell you is what is true: every ingredient is INCI-listed, cosmetic-grade, and used at established safe concentrations. The Nature & Calm range is made entirely without essential oils or fragrance, which is why it tends to suit skin that reacts easily. If you have a specific skin concern, please ask your GP or dermatologist — that is a question for them rather than for us.
The four Bush & Salt collections each address a different skin and sensory need: Outback Botanica is invigorating and clarifying, built on Wattleseed, Eucalyptus , and Macadamia Oil. Harmony is an evening restoration ritual with Pink Clay and Kakadu Plum. Aurora Luxe targets morning radiance with Yellow Clay and Lemon Myrtle. Nature & Calm is essential-oil free for sensitive skin.
Bush & Salt formulas draw on a core range of Australian botanical and mineral ingredients, including Wattleseed (Acacia victoriae), Lemon Myrtle (Backhousia citriodora), Kakadu Plum (Terminalia ferdinandiana), Kunzea (Kunzea ambigua), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus radiata), Macadamia Oil (Macadamia integrifolia), Australian Green, Yellow, and Pink Clays, Murray River Pink Salt, and Australian Sea Salt sourced from coastal regions.
Orders & Shipping
Standard shipping within Australia typically takes 3–7 business days. Express shipping (on orders over $80) takes 1–3 business days. We ship via Australia Post.
Yes — we ship to New Zealand, USA, UK, Canada, and most of Europe. International delivery takes 7–21 business days depending on destination. Duties and taxes may apply on arrival.
Orders placed before 1pm AEST on business days are typically dispatched the same day. Orders placed after 1pm or on weekends are dispatched the next business day.

Yes — you will receive an email with your Australia Post tracking number once your order is dispatched. You can track your parcel directly at auspost.com.au.
Returns & Our Guarantee
We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee on all orders. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order and we'll make it right — exchange, store credit, or refund. No questions asked.
We are sorry to hear this. Please take a photo and email it to care@bushandsalt.com.au within 7 days of delivery. We will send a replacement immediately at no cost.
Yes — gift recipients can exchange for store credit. They simply need to contact us at care@bushandsalt.com.au with the order number. We handle it gracefully and without disclosing the original price.
For change-of-mind returns, the customer covers return postage. For damaged or incorrect items we cover all costs. We recommend using tracked postage for returns.
Ingredients & Sustainability
We do not test our products or ingredients on animals at any stage, and we require the same standard from our suppliers. Our formulations are cruelty-free.
We source Australian native botanicals — including Kakadu Plum, Lemon Myrtle, Wattleseed, Davidson Plum, and Finger Lime — from accredited Australian growers and suppliers. Our clays are exclusively sourced from Australian deposits, chosen for their purity, performance, and consistency.
Our formulas are bath soaks, body scrubs and essential oils — mineral salts, Australian clays and plant oils. They contain no oxybenzone or octinoxate, the two compounds most associated with coral reef damage, and no synthetic fragrance or microbeads. We do not make a sunscreen or any product with UV protection.
We avoid crude palm oil and use only RSPO-certified sustainable palm derivatives where they appear at all. Several of our formulas are entirely palm-free.
Our primary packaging uses black recyclable PET jars and lids, selected for their durability, safety, and reduced environmental impact during transport. Our outer packaging is made from recycled and recyclable cardboard. We are continuously working toward reducing our footprint, with a long-term goal of eliminating unnecessary single-use materials wherever possible.

Every Bush & Salt product is handcrafted in a small workshop in Canberra, Australia. We do not use contract manufacturers — every batch is formulated and poured by the same team, in small batches, in our own studio.
Bush & Salt is a reference to the two defining elements of the Australian landscape that appear throughout our formulations: native botanicals from the bush and mineral salts from our coastline. It's not just a name — it's the formula.
Our products are available exclusively through our online store. We don't operate a physical retail location. This keeps our overheads low and our prices honest.
