Olive Oil (Olea europaea) provides rich emollient, antioxidant, deeply conditioning benefits for skin. Olive oil's squalene content — present at approximately 0.5–0.7% — is particularly relevant for mature and compromised skin, as squalene is one of the primary lipids the skin's own sebaceous glands produce and which declines significantly with age. Its oleic acid (approximately 73%) penetrates the dermis more readily than most plant oils, delivering its antioxidant polyphenols directly where oxidative stress tends to manifest.
