Jojoba

Technically not an oil but a liquid wax ester — the same type of molecular structure that human skin produces as sebum. Uniquely stable (virtually no rancidity), non-comedogenic, and compatible with all skin types. Used in our Harmony and Nature & Calm scrubs for a conditioning result without heaviness.

Jojoba (Simmondsia chinensis) provides balancing, conditioning, skin-compatible benefits for skin. Because jojoba is a wax ester rather than a triglyceride oil, it is not subject to the oxidative rancidity that affects conventional oils. This makes it exceptionally stable in formulas stored at room temperature over extended periods — an important property for products without synthetic preservatives. Its wax ester structure also means it forms a breathable barrier rather than an occlusive film.
