What is Kunzea and how does it benefit skin?
Steam-distilled from the flowering tips of Kunzea ambigua — a coastal shrub native to New South Wales. Its primary constituents include alpha-pinene and viridiflorol, producing a crisp, slightly herbaceous aroma with remarkable anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Used in our Outback Botanica formulas to complement Eucalyptus and add botanical depth.
Kunzea remains largely unknown outside of Australian botanical and indigenous medicine circles, which is precisely what makes it representative of the discovery-driven approach we take to formulation. Clinical research from the University of Tasmania has identified its anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antimicrobial properties. Its aroma — clean, slightly camphoraceous with a green, herbal quality — is distinctly Australian bush.
